CARNIVAL TIME!

Well...not really!  Although we here in the United Kingdom have just held our own version of Carnival at Notting Hill, in west London.  Notting Hill Carnival has been held every August Bank Holiday weekend since 1966, although its roots go back much further.  Unlike the Rio de Janeiro Carnival, Notting Hill is very much a Carribean event as much of the community are from the West Indies. As such rhythms such as soca, reggae and calypso are very much in evidence. In recent years, Notting Hill Carnival has embraced other cultures and demonstrates the colourful multi-diversity of modern British culture.  Today, Notting Hill is the second largest carnival in the world - the largest being Rio!

To honour Notting Hill I am wearing this peacock outfit from

Doreeses Pieces Costume & Pajama Shoppe (Formerly Be Baggy World). Mesh wouldn't work well with this outfit, so when applying the items you have to add them individually.  The shoes come with an alpha, although unlike shoes from N-Core, etc these do not come with a skin-match HUD. A realistic carnival-style dance animation comes with the outfit.  The feathers look amazing and move beautifully when you move. If I had a video recording I would show you how well it moves.

The outfit comes with its own shape, but as you can see from this photograph it works fine with my own avatar skin and shape. At L$399 I believe that it is a fair price to pay for such a nice item - especially for the work involved.
