BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL REUNION!

Even though we hated school at the time, our memories stay with us for many years.  For most of us they were the happiest days of our lives, when we met our future friends and perhaps found love.

From time to time we try to recreate those days by holding School Reunion parties when we try to squeeze into our old school uniforms (if they still fit?).

The great thing about Second Life is that, in general, size doesn't matter. So if you want to hold an old school reunion party you should be able to find something that fits!

I have found that one of the best SL vendors for school uniforms is Edelweiss. Edelweiss has a large selection of high quality school clothing and generally everything is compatible with each other.
Although the descriptions on the vendors lists claim that the items are suitable to create a Japanese schoolgirl look, as can be seen in my photographs, it is possibly to come up with a Western appearance

The photograph above is made up completely with Edelweiss products.
As pencil skirts are not available through this vendor, I have utilised a plain black skirt from Maitreya.  The stockings are from Blacklace and are SLink compatible

FRILLS...AT A NO-FRILLS PRICE

Readers of my blogs will know that the majority of my reviews are about items which can be found on SL Marketplace.  Even though you may be able to find the clothes you are searching for, some amazingly cheap finds can be had,

One such find is this sweet dress from YUP.  This ethnically-inspired dress is (at the time of writing) available as a "gift" for just L$1!!  I wore this at the Ambrosia Dance Club and received many compliments.

The dress is a good length and flatters the figure.  The frills help to enhance the shape of your legs. This item would be equally at home by the beach as it would be on a night out!

SUBTLE n SEXY!

I am unsure whether ISON considered this gown to be dressy gown, but I believe that it would be equally at home on an occasion - even when partying at home or just a quiet night in.

This is an elegant gown which comes in 6 colours and retails at L$275 each.  Whilst the the colours are either dark or muted, the gown still has the ability to turn heads.  The embroidery on the gown is very intricate, but perhaps the most attractive quality is the amount of flesh on show, and yet the gown still manages to retain it's elegance and prettiness.

The deep plunge neckline shows enough and still retains some modesty, but most eyes may be drawn to the wide slit along the side of the torso.  Wear this and I guarantee that you'll have the guys manouvering to get the best view (see pic below)

The gown also features sleeves which themselves are beautifully slit.  The gown files in the package come in two groups - sleeved and sleeveless - so you are able wear with or without.  The gown still looks amazing whichever you decide.

BACK IN BLACK!

Most gowns bought in Secondlife would seem to be a touch "over-dressy" for many of the modern music clubs such as those in the Ambrosia Entertainment Group etc. But this gorgeous black lace side-slit gown from Ison would be as much at home in Ambrosia, Grind or even Tropicana Salsa as it would be in the more formal clubs such as Franks or Sweethearts.

Anyway...enough of the club name-dropping.  To the gown!

As with my previous blog I bought this dress after buying something previously. As those who have read my reviews I do tend to favour Bandit Jewelry. I have remained true to Bandit for the earrings. However, I decided to try out something Gold.  To this end I found this striking tribal-style gold necklace in the Ison "catalogue".

Whilst in the Ison emporium I came across this amazingly sexy gown in lace.  A lot of mesh slit gowns don't seem to move well, but prior to me taking this photograph I was dancing to some Brazilian music I have playing on my radio player, I found the gown moved very well.  Obviously with it's mesh construction the gown doesn't swirl and sway about, but neither does it feel like wearing a stiff card outfit.  And...as you can see in the picture above, get the pose right and those about you can be treated to a tantalising glimse of leg!  The shoes are N-Core "Delicious" in black.

WELL...HELLO...YELLOW!

A blonde in yellow?  In yellow shoes?  Could I pull it off?  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in mine I reckon I succeeded.

I got the idea for this outfit after seeing the shoes as a "featured item" in the SL Marketplace.  The shoes are marketed by Kokoia and retail at L$595.  They are SLink shoes of course, so you will need to wear the SLink High feet.

Once I bought the shoes, I searched SL Marketplace for something to co-ordinate them with.  In previous blogs I have commented on the difficulty in matching shades by different fashion designers.  This amazing dress from ColdLogic seems to work beautifully!  Part of a range of 4 colours, I love the detailing.  The plunging neckline also features a pair of buttonholes unfastened which not only looks cooling and liberating, but gives your admirers a tempting few inches of bosom. The jewellery is the same as in my previous blog.  As black is frequently a great colour to mix with yellow, it is the black jewellery I have selected.

ALL THAT GLITTERS!

I have recently received a number of complimentary comments about the jewellery (British English spelling) I have worn in many of my postings.

Both the necklace and the earrings are from Bandit Jewelry.  The necklace is part of their Akita range - which comes in a range of 6 colours. The colour I am wearing is a mixture of black and white pearls. Akita looks very neat and tidy round the neck.  At L$1480 this necklace is not cheap, but it has a pair of matching droplet earrings and a bracelet.

However, the earrings I am actually wearing are not the inclusive items, but Princess Bangle earrings - also from Bandit Jewelry. These are priced at L$450 and come in 5 colours

The bangles on my wrists are from Zaara and retail as Nizam Choodiya.  According to their product description these bangles are based upon a 16th Century Persian design.  Priced at L$250, these bangles come in a variety of colour combinations.

MEL IN THE "MED"

Even with the warmer days of Summer getting ever closer, many British tourists (and even those from other European nations) choose to visit the Mediterranean for their vacations.  Greece and its numerous islands are perhaps the most favourite choices for many Brits.

This beautiful delicate satin dress would be ideal to wear on those hot sunny days and its design does have a kind of Greco-Roman look about it.  The dress is excellent value, being available to by at just L$60 from Soul.  There are a number of different other shades available in the same dress design.  Each dress comes complete with a pair of boots, but in my personal opinion these boots look chunky.  A pair of strappy sandals perhaps?

A sweet sexy satin straplessSummer dresss at a sensational price!

IMITATION IS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY
(but beware of imitations!)

A photograph recently appeared in a British newspaper which featured a rather tipsy Cheryl Cole (lead singer of Girls Aloud) being escorted out of a nightclub by a member of her security team.

Despite being the worse for wear, Cheryl still looked amazing in leather pants and jacket - together with a satin tank top. Her shoes looked stunning!

Given the limitations imposed by the SL Marketplace, I have attempted to create a similar look, although  as my photograph shows I have had to compromise on the jacket.

Whilst there are many jackets and blazers for women available on SL Marketplace, in my opinion the most stylish is the studded lapel garmet from Vika Design.  Priced at L$599 this jacket comes with a HUD which allows you to select one of 6 tank tops.

Similarly, there is a wide selection of leather pants in Second Life.  My personal favourites are these highwaisted pants from Ricielli.  These are priced at L$265.  This is where I advise caution  There is another SL trader who uses the brand R.icielli   (note the fullstop!).

Finally, the shoes are the new "Laud" style from Maitreya - priced at L$750.

MAKING THE GRADE?

During a Geemix gig recently, I heard him suggest a forthcoming school reunion style evening.  This set me thinking. Most would default to a typical sexy school uniform look, but I decided to go for something a bit more creative.  My inspiration was after seeing a college student in my local town. In typical marketplace tradition getting the match right did meet a few difficulties, but I believe I just about managed to get things pretty close.

My search began with the skirt.  This skirt is called "Allure" and comes in a number of shades - both plain and patterned.  EclecticWings also provided the blazer - although to avoid any issues with the skirt and top I had to go one size larger than normal.  My top is from Leverocci and features satin ruffles.  The tights (pantihose) are from No.9 Nylons.  However, the biggest surprise for me was finding the boots.  Produced by IceWater, the boots come in 4 colours and retail at just L$199!!  AMAZING VALUE! When initially worn you may find the boots are oversized, but there is a resize HUD included.  The satchel is by Mon Tissu.
