I GOT THE LEVEROCCI BLUES!

I got the inspiration for this outfit from a news item on local television. The reporter (Sarah Falkland on BBC 1 Midlands Today) normally dresses quite conservatively when "in the studio", but when reporting outside dresses quite stylishly.

In a recent news item she wore a royal blue blazer combined with a black tank top.  Although out of shot, her stance would suggest that she was wearing pants.

This inspired me to try to replicate the look in Second Life. I already had some black PVC pants by Lapointe & Bastchild and a black tank top from Viva la Glam. 

I eventually found what I needed from Leverocci.  There is a range of 17 different shades of colour in this "Formal Blazer" marketed by Leverocci in the Belgravia brand. I have combined the jacket with some T-Bar Pumps also from Leverocci. However, Leverocci shoes require "Slink" feet.  The Slink feet I am using are of medium height.

Putting this combination together may reveal some minor issues with the alpha masks, but with a little patience these issue can be overcome. I also did encounter a problem with my sizing of the jacket. Being of medium build, using medium sizing on the jacket I did find my hip area on the pants showed through the jacket. I resolved this by wearing the large size on the blazer.  The end result was very satisfactory.

I have had a lot of positive reaction to my new hairstyle. This is "Stella" by Catwa.  My jewelry is "Akita" by Bandit Jewelry.

LEATHER & THE CAT

Catsuits! For somepeople they can look downright sexy. For others they can look bloody awful.

Perhaps one of the most famous images of catsuits were those worn by Diana Rigg who portrayed the action-girl Mrs Emma Peel in the British TV adventure series "The Avengers"(below)

I have owned this 2Chez "SugarSkulls" catsuit for quite a few months.  Although I love how it looks, I have felt that it needed a little more to make it look more of an outfit rather than just a catsuit. The catsuit trades in SL Marketplace as  Calaveras-de-Azucar which is Spanish for "Skulls of Sugar"

I decided that a little bit more leather wouldn't come amiss, so I went to one of my favourite SL leather traders Lapointe & Bastchild to accessorize.

Both the jacket and the ankle boots are by L&B and work very nicely with the catsuit.  I was gambling a bit as to whether the jacket and catsuit alphas would work together.  Indeed, some of the red piping on the catsuit does encroach onto the sleeves of the jacket, but this actually works quite well as it helps the jacket seem as if it is part of a complete outfit.  I could have worn a larger size jacket, but this might have made things look a touch mis-proportioned and chunky.

Those of you who have followed my blogs may have noticed that I am wearing different hair.  Over my years on SL I have worn hair by either Truth or Catwa.  With the advent of mesh hair I have tended to favour Truth Hair, but a recent visit to Catwa has revealed some amazing new styles.  I really love this style - Stella.  All of the present Catwa styles are amazingly detailed, dare I say it...much more than Truth!
