Wearing the
RED, WHITE & BLUE

It doesn't have to cost the earth to look good in Secondlife as there are many bargains to be had. Some, like this dress are absolute gifts. In fact this particular dress is FREE!

Cysleek Design features a selection of mainly leisure wear in the SL Marketplace catalogue and this in my opinion is one of the best outfits in their selection.  On their listing for this dress it is called part of their "old collection" which may suggest that it is soon to be phased out.  I hope this is not to be the case, but in case it is I urge you to obtain it before it goes!

I had no issues at all with fitting.  The dress looks amazing for almost any occasion and looks great on the beach.  And if you are British, American - or indeed any other nation whose flag's colours are red, white and blue you can show your patriotism too!

Over the last few weeks I have been trying out a new range of "flexi-mesh" hairstyles from CATWA. The style I am wearing here is called "Clara".  These new "flexi-mesh" hairstyles combine the rigidity of mesh but also incorporate a sense of movement whilst you are moving.

THOSE HAZY,CRAZY DAYS OF SUMMER!
(Especially British Ones!)

When many people think of Britain they immediately think of cold miserable and wet days when it rains incessantly!  Actually, considering our place on the planet, Britaqin is very lucky and frequently has much better weather than many other countries at our latitude. Much of our weather is governed by the jet stream's position.

During the last winter (when the USA was experiencing a severe freeze, we in the UK were suffering heavy rain which caused severe flooding in many parts of the country.

Since those storms some 3 months ago, we have been basking in much better weather.  However, the British weather has a strange habit of breaking down with excellent timing.  During our Bank Holidays (public holidays) we almost expect it to rain - even after a long period of dry weather.  The same seems to occur around the time of Wimbledon Tennis fortnight.  Play has been held up frequently because of rain.  In 1996 during a rain-interrupted Men's Quarter-Final was the venue for an impromptu performance (acapella) by the British singer Cliff Richard. Since this time, the Centre Court has been provided with a closing roof, so at least some play will be maintained.

At the same time as Wimbledon, the World's largest greenfield music festival begins at Glastonbury, Somerset - in the Southwest of England. The event features leading performers from all over the globe. However, the festival has a reputation of being something of a mudbath, but this is one of the hazard that true festival-goers are happy to face!

So, with Glastonbury in mind, here is a festival ready variation of the top photograph. Of interest is the top which allows you to change the colour and the trim of the garment.

SHOW THAT TAN OFF!

In my last blog I covered an extremely daring and sexy lace dress, and this is from the same vendor.  Like the previous item, it is created to thrill, but perhaps even more so as there is a great deal more flesh on show.

SHOW THAT TAN OFF, GIRL!!!

The dress and bust sections meet up at waist level to a tie-back. The bust section then criss-crosses to a halter-neck.  The whole dress moves exceptionally well - even whilst dancing.  The dress comes with a metallic thong as did my previously-reviewed dress.

The dress comes in the standard mesh sizes, but to allow the transparency of the material, there is no alpha!

I have to add that this and the previous dress are "ready to wear".  Many of Alexbe's other more daring outfits either require you to either alter your avatar's shape or buy the vendors own shape.  And I ain't giving up my curves for anything!

THE SHEER THRILL!

This is probably one of the sexiest and most daring dresses I have ever worn in Secondlife - and it is still very feminine and in no way could I ever call it slutty

The dress is created by Alexbe Yifu at "Ally's Adventures" (yes!  I managed to escape the clutches of Coldlogic!)

Interestingly, although this dress is mesh, it does not come with alpha - and with good reason.  As can be seen in the detail photograph(left) the lace material  is supposed to be transparent.  However the lace is thick enough to leave the guys guessing what you have under the dress - once you have managed to pick their lower jaws off the floor. The dress also comes with a metallic-coloured thong, so you can maintain some decency.

The dress itself comes with 2 layers - both in the normal mesh sizes.  The other layer is a snowflake design.

COLDLOGIC (Contd)

It can be tricky trying to match one Second Life garment with another insofar as how they interact with each other, especially if the garments are produced by different creators. The biggest issue is the alphas of each item not working well with another. During my recent sojourn in the Coldlogic SL catalogue, I have found that this vendor has come up with designs which are compatible with each other - or are part of one whole garment.

This is indeed the case of the outfit I am modelling above.  Buying a set of black leggings with a miniskirt worn over the top is made so much easier as one complete combination.  Coldlogic has a large number of mesh tops such the one above.  The skirt/leggings retail at L$250 and the top sells at L$225.

Somehow, I believe that I won't be leaving Coldlogic any time soon!

THOSE (CHILLY) SUMMER NIGHTS

I am really struggling to extract myself from the Coldlogic store!   I am so mightily impressed by so much of the output from this Second Life vendor!

My latest selection is this dress and denim jacket combination. The dress is available in 4 colour variations - as are the jackets.  The jacket in this package is a faded blue which matches the deep blue hue of the dress.  The dress and jacket can be worn separately and have their own alpha files, so if you bought the other variations of this outfit, you could mix things around.

Worn together, the dress and jacket have a summery look, and the jacket looks perfect for the occasional chilly night.  Worn without the denim jacket, the dress is strapless.

This outfit retails at L$425.

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

I am really loving some of the output coming out of Coldlogic recently.  Following on from the amazing check dress in my previous blog comes this pinafore dress - retailing at L$350

The dress is beautifully constructed.  The dress looks as if it is worn over a blouse, but is actually the same item.  The closed collar design of the blouse section looks smart and gives the outfit a demure schoolgirl look.  Despite its parochial appearance, its short length gives it a contemporary look.

Although I am wearing my Bandit bangle earrings, in reflection these are a touch over-dressy for this outfit, so I suggest that you keep any personal adornments simple.  Its a simple dress, so keep the look simple!

CHECK THIS OUT!

I fell in love with this outfit as soon as I saw it on the Coldlogic section of SL Marketplace!  This vendor is amongst one of the best designers of practical women's fashion in Second Life.  At least that is my opinion.
This oufit comes in 2 main parts - a sweet mini-dress and a smart jacket. There are 3 alphas and clothing options. One allows you to wear the dress alone. Another allows you to wear the jacket with other clothing. And of course you have the option to wear the jacket and dress together.
The dress looks both timeless and yet contemporary.  The high neckline gives a kind of retro late 1960s appearance, and yet there is a modern flare.  The outfit would look amazing in any circumstance be it on a date, at work or indulging in some retail therapy.

It is nicely priced at L$375 and there are 3 other versions available.

MAITREYA GLAMOUR

MAITREYA has long been one of my "go to" stores in Second Life when shopping for high quality no-nonsense everyday wear.  Many of my skirts come from this vendor.

I had not previously considered Maitreya as a place to buy evening wear, but it seems that is about to change.

Onyx LaShelle has released a range of "vintage" gowns which appear quite timeless in their look.  In fact, compared to many other gowns in the Marketplace they look very modern indeed! The gown comes in 2 parts. The main part of the gown is a figure-hugging corset dress. The package includes a lace overdress which can be worn over the main gown as an option, although in my personal opinion the overdress does help to lift the whole outfit.

The lace overdress gives the outfit added glamour by giving added detail to the bust-line.  The overdress has a thigh-length slit.  Maitreya also have a range of necklaces that look amazing with the outfit and is keenly priced at L$225!  The gown itself retails at L$425.

I await further developments from Maitreya with interest!

WORKING 9 to 5

When shopping for office equipment in the Second Life Marketplace, one can be greeted with a dizzying amount of furniture which features varying amount of sexually or erotic activity.  In fact, one such desk has hardly and office-style features at all - preferring to concentrate on the office affair. This particular desk retails at almost L$2500! If you wish to pay that amount for an office desk which is just tailored for sex then that is up to you.

Shopping around SL Marketplace, there is a significant of non-sexual furniture you could find for your office. And, their is a great chance of finding great value too!  I paid just a little over L$400 for the whole of my office furniture above.  As they are all individual items, the animations contained within are not meant to work together, but careful placing of each item would allow your actions to look fairly realistic.
The desk is a low prim (but fairly realistic) item and costs just L$55. The swivel chair retails at L$50 and looks amazing for such a price.  There are a number of excellent animations with this chair, and should probably the only item you would ever need to move at any time. The remainder of the office furniture retails between L$49 (the phone) and L$150 (the printer).  You can resize all these items, so if the proportions don't look right, you can always alter to suit.

In this blog I have included a couple of uniform options - both variations on a theme.  The skirts are both available from the Maitreya Mainstore. Those who read my recent "Old School" blog may recognise the longer length skirt.  The best co-ordinating top I have found is the combined blazer and blouse set by MUSCHI - retailing at L$350.

BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL REUNION!

Even though we hated school at the time, our memories stay with us for many years.  For most of us they were the happiest days of our lives, when we met our future friends and perhaps found love.

From time to time we try to recreate those days by holding School Reunion parties when we try to squeeze into our old school uniforms (if they still fit?).

The great thing about Second Life is that, in general, size doesn't matter. So if you want to hold an old school reunion party you should be able to find something that fits!

I have found that one of the best SL vendors for school uniforms is Edelweiss. Edelweiss has a large selection of high quality school clothing and generally everything is compatible with each other.
Although the descriptions on the vendors lists claim that the items are suitable to create a Japanese schoolgirl look, as can be seen in my photographs, it is possibly to come up with a Western appearance

The photograph above is made up completely with Edelweiss products.
As pencil skirts are not available through this vendor, I have utilised a plain black skirt from Maitreya.  The stockings are from Blacklace and are SLink compatible

FRILLS...AT A NO-FRILLS PRICE

Readers of my blogs will know that the majority of my reviews are about items which can be found on SL Marketplace.  Even though you may be able to find the clothes you are searching for, some amazingly cheap finds can be had,

One such find is this sweet dress from YUP.  This ethnically-inspired dress is (at the time of writing) available as a "gift" for just L$1!!  I wore this at the Ambrosia Dance Club and received many compliments.

The dress is a good length and flatters the figure.  The frills help to enhance the shape of your legs. This item would be equally at home by the beach as it would be on a night out!

SUBTLE n SEXY!

I am unsure whether ISON considered this gown to be dressy gown, but I believe that it would be equally at home on an occasion - even when partying at home or just a quiet night in.

This is an elegant gown which comes in 6 colours and retails at L$275 each.  Whilst the the colours are either dark or muted, the gown still has the ability to turn heads.  The embroidery on the gown is very intricate, but perhaps the most attractive quality is the amount of flesh on show, and yet the gown still manages to retain it's elegance and prettiness.

The deep plunge neckline shows enough and still retains some modesty, but most eyes may be drawn to the wide slit along the side of the torso.  Wear this and I guarantee that you'll have the guys manouvering to get the best view (see pic below)

The gown also features sleeves which themselves are beautifully slit.  The gown files in the package come in two groups - sleeved and sleeveless - so you are able wear with or without.  The gown still looks amazing whichever you decide.

BACK IN BLACK!

Most gowns bought in Secondlife would seem to be a touch "over-dressy" for many of the modern music clubs such as those in the Ambrosia Entertainment Group etc. But this gorgeous black lace side-slit gown from Ison would be as much at home in Ambrosia, Grind or even Tropicana Salsa as it would be in the more formal clubs such as Franks or Sweethearts.

Anyway...enough of the club name-dropping.  To the gown!

As with my previous blog I bought this dress after buying something previously. As those who have read my reviews I do tend to favour Bandit Jewelry. I have remained true to Bandit for the earrings. However, I decided to try out something Gold.  To this end I found this striking tribal-style gold necklace in the Ison "catalogue".

Whilst in the Ison emporium I came across this amazingly sexy gown in lace.  A lot of mesh slit gowns don't seem to move well, but prior to me taking this photograph I was dancing to some Brazilian music I have playing on my radio player, I found the gown moved very well.  Obviously with it's mesh construction the gown doesn't swirl and sway about, but neither does it feel like wearing a stiff card outfit.  And...as you can see in the picture above, get the pose right and those about you can be treated to a tantalising glimse of leg!  The shoes are N-Core "Delicious" in black.

WELL...HELLO...YELLOW!

A blonde in yellow?  In yellow shoes?  Could I pull it off?  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in mine I reckon I succeeded.

I got the idea for this outfit after seeing the shoes as a "featured item" in the SL Marketplace.  The shoes are marketed by Kokoia and retail at L$595.  They are SLink shoes of course, so you will need to wear the SLink High feet.

Once I bought the shoes, I searched SL Marketplace for something to co-ordinate them with.  In previous blogs I have commented on the difficulty in matching shades by different fashion designers.  This amazing dress from ColdLogic seems to work beautifully!  Part of a range of 4 colours, I love the detailing.  The plunging neckline also features a pair of buttonholes unfastened which not only looks cooling and liberating, but gives your admirers a tempting few inches of bosom. The jewellery is the same as in my previous blog.  As black is frequently a great colour to mix with yellow, it is the black jewellery I have selected.

ALL THAT GLITTERS!

I have recently received a number of complimentary comments about the jewellery (British English spelling) I have worn in many of my postings.

Both the necklace and the earrings are from Bandit Jewelry.  The necklace is part of their Akita range - which comes in a range of 6 colours. The colour I am wearing is a mixture of black and white pearls. Akita looks very neat and tidy round the neck.  At L$1480 this necklace is not cheap, but it has a pair of matching droplet earrings and a bracelet.

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Bandit-Jewelry-Akita-Black-Pearls-Set-resizable-diamonds-necklace-earrings-bracelet/588831

However, the earrings I am actually wearing are not the inclusive items, but Princess Bangle earrings - also from Bandit Jewelry. These are priced at L$450 and come in 5 colours

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/43-Bandit-Jewelry-New-reflective-PRINCESS-BANGLE-EARRINGS-Black-Diamonds-Platinum/588814

The bangles on my wrists are from Zaara and retail as Nizam Choodiya.  According to their product description these bangles are based upon a 16th Century Persian design.  Priced at L$250, these bangles come in a variety of colour combinations.

MEL IN THE "MED"

Even with the warmer days of Summer getting ever closer, many British tourists (and even those from other European nations) choose to visit the Mediterranean for their vacations.  Greece and its numerous islands are perhaps the most favourite choices for many Brits.

This beautiful delicate satin dress would be ideal to wear on those hot sunny days and its design does have a kind of Greco-Roman look about it.  The dress is excellent value, being available to by at just L$60 from Soul.  There are a number of different other shades available in the same dress design.  Each dress comes complete with a pair of boots, but in my personal opinion these boots look chunky.  A pair of strappy sandals perhaps?

A sweet sexy satin straplessSummer dresss at a sensational price!

IMITATION IS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY
(but beware of imitations!)

A photograph recently appeared in a British newspaper which featured a rather tipsy Cheryl Cole (lead singer of Girls Aloud) being escorted out of a nightclub by a member of her security team.

Despite being the worse for wear, Cheryl still looked amazing in leather pants and jacket - together with a satin tank top. Her shoes looked stunning!

Given the limitations imposed by the SL Marketplace, I have attempted to create a similar look, although  as my photograph shows I have had to compromise on the jacket.

Whilst there are many jackets and blazers for women available on SL Marketplace, in my opinion the most stylish is the studded lapel garmet from Vika Design.  Priced at L$599 this jacket comes with a HUD which allows you to select one of 6 tank tops.

Similarly, there is a wide selection of leather pants in Second Life.  My personal favourites are these highwaisted pants from Ricielli.  These are priced at L$265.  This is where I advise caution  There is another SL trader who uses the brand R.icielli   (note the fullstop!).

Finally, the shoes are the new "Laud" style from Maitreya - priced at L$750.

MAKING THE GRADE?

During a Geemix gig recently, I heard him suggest a forthcoming school reunion style evening.  This set me thinking. Most would default to a typical sexy school uniform look, but I decided to go for something a bit more creative.  My inspiration was after seeing a college student in my local town. In typical marketplace tradition getting the match right did meet a few difficulties, but I believe I just about managed to get things pretty close.

My search began with the skirt.  This skirt is called "Allure" and comes in a number of shades - both plain and patterned.  EclecticWings also provided the blazer - although to avoid any issues with the skirt and top I had to go one size larger than normal.  My top is from Leverocci and features satin ruffles.  The tights (pantihose) are from No.9 Nylons.  However, the biggest surprise for me was finding the boots.  Produced by IceWater, the boots come in 4 colours and retail at just L$199!!  AMAZING VALUE! When initially worn you may find the boots are oversized, but there is a resize HUD included.  The satchel is by Mon Tissu.

OH MY LAUD!

A few weeks ago Charlize Crumb posted in Facebook about the imminent arrival of a new style of ankleboot from Maitreya.  Well... they have arrived!

Priced at L$750 the boots are pretty well the typical price for good quality Second Life footwear.  In the package you get your standard package (alpha, footshaper , shoes and HUD), but also included is a SLink set.  Obviously you have to wear your SLink "High" feet in this case.  With Maitreya now selling a dual format package, could we now see others such as N-Core, Bootgasm, etc doing likewise.  After all, various SL clothing vendors now retail dresses, gowns and other items with options to wear with Lola breasts and Phat Azz bottoms and other similar avatar enhancement.  Why not shoes and boots.

My verdict?  I'm not totally blown away by them.  They look nice enough, and the detailing is excellent. There is virtually no difference in appearance between the standard boot and the SLink option.  That is my main reason for not being impressed.  A look at many other SLink shoes will show impressive build quality.  The "Laud" doesn't quite cut the mustard in comparison.

But... this is purely my personal opinion. You may disagree...
